Caroline Winn is chief executive officer for San Diego Gas & Electric, one of Sempra Energy’s regulated California utilities, which serves 3.6 million customers.

Winn has 30 plus years of experience in the energy industry. Since joining the company in 1986 as an associate engineer, she has held progressive leadership positions at both SDG&E and Southern California Gas Company, including director of supply chain management, director of transmission and distribution asset management, vice president of customer services, and chief customer privacy officer. Before being promoted to her current position, she was SDG&E’s chief operating officer.

Under Winn’s leadership, SDG&E has become a leader in expanding the EV charging network  across the San Diego and southern Orange County region. SDG&E’s portfolio of EV charging programs supports the electrification of light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, and they encompass multi-unit dwellings, municipal facilities, marine terminals, airport facilities, industrial and commercial sites, schools, parks and beaches.

A registered professional engineer in California, Winn has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from California State University, Sacramento.
